About This Project

Scan2Jawi is a mobile app designed to simplify and digitalize Jawi literacy. By using OCR and intelligent Malay-to-Jawi conversion, it instantly transforms printed and handwritten Malay text into accurate Jawi script. This project addresses the growing challenge of declining Jawi proficiency and the limited availability of modern, accessible digital tools for learning.



🧠 Introduction

Jawi remains an important cultural script, yet its mastery continues to decline as students struggle with recognition, parents lack time or proficiency to guide them, and teachers face heavy workloads preparing Jawi materials. University and IPG students also require accurate Jawi output for assignments but have limited dependable tools, while existing resources are outdated and not practical for real-time learning. These widespread issues highlight the urgent need for a fast, accessible, and intelligent Jawi companion exactly what Scan2Jawi aims to provide.
