HadithLacuna is the product of a dedicated, interdisciplinary research team based at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). Our mission is to bridge the intricate linguistic and cultural gaps found in Hadith translation through scholarly research and cutting-edge technology.

Our team brings together experts in:

• Hadith Studies & Islamic Theology – ensuring authenticity, scholarly rigor, and respect for the sanctity of the Hadith texts.
• Linguistics & Semiotics – focusing on untranslatability, cultural lacunarity, and the nuanced meaning of classical Arabic terms.
• Computational Linguistics & Artificial Intelligence – developing AI models capable of identifying, classifying, and semantically explaining complex Arabic terms in context.
• Software Engineering – building a user-friendly, scalable web platform that empowers researchers, educators, students, and translators.

Together, we are committed to producing an AI-enhanced glossary knowledge base that serves as a trusted reference for Malay-speaking communities and a tool to promote religious literacy, cross-cultural understanding, and digital innovation in Islamic scholarship.
